Mentorship for applicants preparing for the US residency match
Whitetulip Health Foundation Residency Application (Match) Mentorship Program provides mentorship for those who intend to apply for medical residency training in the U.S. This program guides applicants for successful residency matches every year.

The Residency Application (Match) Mentorship Department proudly supports medical doctors on their journey to U.S. residency training.
Personalized one-on-one mentorship to support you at every step of the residency match journey.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the program, the applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements below.
- Must be a member of the Whitetulip Health Foundation
- Must be a graduate of medical school
- Must be applying for medical residency in the upcoming match calendar year
- Must have passed at least 2 exams required for ECFMG certification (USMLE Step 1, USMLE Step 2 CK, OET)
- Must be in good communication with the mentorship team using the tracking system determined by the residency match mentorship department
WHF Residency Match Mentorship Program offers a limited number of slots each year. Upon receipt of all required documents, your application will be confirmed on a first-come-first-serve basis. We are unable to accept any new applications once all the available slots are filled.
The applicants must provide all the required information and documents before the application deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered for the residency application mentorship program. The results will be communicated to the applicants by email.
Terms and Agreement
- WHF will assign a volunteer mentor based on the applicant's application and specialty. The assigned mentor provides guidance for one specialty.
- If an applicant plans to apply to more than one specialty, a separate mentor may be assigned depending on availability, or the mentor may provide advice for other specialty applications.
- The application process remains the applicant's responsibility. The mentorship program and assigned mentors are here to help through this long process.
- Mentors' time is valuable and voluntary. Mentees are expected to treat mentors with appreciation and respect.
- Mentees are expected to respond as soon as possible after receiving an email, text, or phone call. If there is no response within 48 hours, the mentor will send a noncompliant notification.
- If three noncompliant notifications are issued, mentorship may stop. To continue, the mentee must provide a written explanation, and the committee will decide whether to resume or terminate mentorship.
- Mentor and mentee will decide on deadlines for each step of the application process. Deadlines may be modified only if discussed at least one week in advance.
- By September 1st, mentees are required to finalize all documents needed for application, including the personal statement and program list.
