Whitetulip Health Foundation hosted its 2026 International Medical Graduate (IMG) Appreciation Dinner at the UT Southwestern Faculty Club in Dallas, Texas, bringing together healthcare professionals, academic leaders, and community members for an evening celebrating excellence in medicine and the contributions of international medical graduates to the U.S. healthcare system.
This event recognized distinguished leaders in public health, clinical research, and medical education while highlighting the importance of mentorship, professional development, and opportunities for international medical graduates. It also provided an opportunity to recognize the achievements of international medical graduates and their contributions to healthcare, research, education, and leadership.
Welcoming remarks given by Dr. Sevdenur Çizginer, President of Whitetulip Health Foundation, reflected on the importance of recognizing international medical graduates and supporting their professional journeys.
Dr. Mustafa Tunc, Whitetulip's Dallas State Representative, introduced the foundation's mission, its mentorship and educational programs, and its activities in the Dallas area.

Keynote Speaker
Keynote speaker Vlad G. Zaha, MD, PhD, is known for his contributions to clinical care, research, and medical education, with an emphasis on advancing medical knowledge, fostering mentorship, and promoting patient-centered care. His work spans cardiovascular care for patients with cancer, advanced cardiovascular imaging, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Zaha is the Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Section Chief of Cardio-Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Whitetulip Excellence Awards
Three distinguished healthcare leaders were recognized with Whitetulip Excellence Awards.
Ayesha Zia, MD, MSCS, received the Excellence in Clinical Research & Specialized Care award, honoring her contributions to clinical research and specialized patient care. The award was presented by Dr. Shawna Nesbitt, Vice President and Chief Institutional Opportunity Officer at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Salahuddin Kazi, MD, received the Lifetime Achievement in Medical Education award in recognition of his longstanding dedication to medical education, residency training, and mentorship. In a heartfelt message shared during the ceremony, Dr. Kazi reflected on his journey as an international medical graduate and emphasized the importance of mentorship, perseverance, and creating opportunities for future generations of physicians.
