Clinical and Lab Pathology Program

Also in August, WHF held an immersion program for high schoolers on Clinical and Lab Pathology at SiParadigm Laboratories. Students spent five days inside a diagnostic lab learning medical diagnostics, attended lectures, participated in hands-on activities, and completed HIPAA compliance and lab safety training.

At this intensive program, students observed laboratory professionals at work, exploring molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, histology and cytogenetics. To expand their knowledge further, participants attended lectures on general pathology, histology and genomics. This experience presented students with the opportunity to learn how modern medical laboratories work, and to connect with experts to expand their knowledge of the diagnostic medical field. At the end of the session, students earned a certificate of participation in a closing ceremony.
