The purpose of the Whitetulip Health Foundation International Dental Graduates (IDG) Scholarship Program is to provide financial support for those in the dental profession to enable them to continue their dental career in the US, integrate within the US dental system and their invaluable professional skills and experiences.

This scholarship program enables IDG to attend and continue in dental training, conduct research in various dental topics, complete a specific objective in the dental field, enhance personal capability or skills in the dental career. The scholarship duration could be up to 12 months and the total amount granted will be decided by the Scholarship Selection Committee depending on the need and request of the applicant. Once approved, the scholarship will be distributed according to the WHF International Dental Graduates Scholarship operation manual.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1.1. Must be a member of Whitetulip Health Foundation (WHF).

1.2. Must be currently in the USA and hold legal status.

1.3. Must be a graduate from an international dental school.

1.4. The Applicant should be neither a relative nor an employee of a member of the Whitetulip Health Foundation Board or the members of the Selection Committee.

1.5. All international dental school graduates who plan to pursue further dental education and or related training in the United States must pass the below tests to be eligible the Scholarship Program:

    • Integrated National Board Dental Exam (INBDE) or
    • National Dental Board Exam (NBDE) Part I and Part II

               and

    • Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 70 or above.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

2.1. Completed WHF International Dental Graduates (IDG) Scholarship Application Form, including describing past accomplishments and plans in the dental profession for the long term.

2.2. Commitment letter, including 12 months of plans, including explanation of how to use this scholarship to pursue his/her professional/academic career in dental profession.

2.3. Up-to-Date CV.

2.4. A recent photo obtained in the last 6 months.

2.5. Copy of diploma from the most recently attended dental school/institution.

2.6. Transcript (including the grading scale) from current / graduated dental school/institution.

2.7. Proof of TOEFL, NBDE, INDBE or other U.S. equivalent exam scores (PDF print of official website’s result page, etc.).

2.8. A proof of current visa-residency status and most recent I-94 document. 

2.9. Whitetulip Health Foundation membership verification letter.

3.0. All recipients must provide a written progress report in quarterly of the scholarship period regarding the recipient’s career plans stated in the application commitment letter.

HOW TO APPLY

In order to apply for the Scholarship Program, the applicants need to complete the below form (Whitetulip Health Foundation Scholarship for International Dental Graduates (IDG) Application Form) and upload all the other required documents listed above and click the submit button.

The form will be available to fill only in the application periods.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Applications will be open in the month of January and May of each year.

All applicants have to submit their applications during this time period with all the required documents. The applications with any missing information or documents will not be considered for the scholarship. All completed applications will be reviewed at a meeting of the Scholarship Selection Committee in the February and June and finalized. The results will be announced to the applicants by e-mail.
