Thank you for your interest in the International Medical Student (IMS) Mentoring Program of the Whitetulip Health Foundation (WHF). The purpose of this program is to familiarize you with the path to residency in the United States, specifically the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE). This program aligns very well with the WHF’s missions since mentoring is one of the core elements of the organization and has always been a top priority. With the help of the dedicated volunteers among its members, WHF is committed to delivering effective and timely mentoring to its new and existing members to provide career advice for academic and professional growth as well as personal enrichment. Through a well-established rapport between the mentor and mentee, WHF IMS mentoring program aims to help mentees to “discover” themselves, identify their strengths while developing new skills, and help them reach their goals. The ultimate goal of the mentoring program is to help mentees become independent learners and be able to steer through the complex and ever-changing application process.
To begin your journey, please refer to the PowerPoint document titled “Path to Residency in the US”. This brief presentation will provide a good starting point as well as links to useful websites to begin exploring.
