Do you want to start a QI Project? – NY Medical Forum

Speaker: Sun Young Kim MD, PhD, CMQ

Dr. Sun Young Kim is a pediatric resident working in Metropolitan Hospital Center. She worked as an executive editor of ‘Urban Medicine’ which is a journal of patient safety and OI and Q-tip editor of AJMO (American Journal of Medical Quality). She presented 6 GI and patient safety projects at NPSF, AAMC and ACMQ meetings as oral or poster presentations for 2 years. She was selected one of the scholars of the Telluride patient safety and leadership training in 2015. She got the PCTF grant from CIR in 2015 to do of one of her projects on education of the residents to help them to start their Ql projects. For this project, she published a CI guide book named ‘Do you want to start QI project?’ She got multiple awards; Patient safety award from HHC (Health and Hospitals Corporation), Patient safety champion award from Metropolitan Hospital Center, Dr. Samul Katim’s Award for Humanism in Medicine at Medical Quality (ACMQ). She will become a pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellow after finishing her residency.
