Covid-19 Oral Antiviral Pills
People who tested positive for COVID-19 and at high risk for developing severe disease* may be eligible for Covid-19 oral antiviral pills. These treatments reduce the COVID-19 related hospitalization and death risk in non-hospitalized patients with mild to moderate COVID-19. They are most effective when started within 5 days of symptom onset. The FDA has authorized the emergency use of Paxlovid and Lagevrio for outpatient treatment against COVID-19.
*e.g., 65 years and older, lung disease, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, immunosuppression.
